"Brown paper packages tied up with string... these are a few of my favourite things!"

It's true isn't it?!  We all love receiving them (or at least the idea of getting them) but when do we actually ever receive them? The only time I get brown packages sent to me is when my I've done my quarterly shopping sprees at the Book Depository. So here it is - Life & Co's first exciting project to revive the idea of gift collecting, present wrapping and parcel receiving. I would love you all to be a part of this project so have a read through the details below and sign up if you'd like to get on board.

Who can get involved //
You.  Yes, I want YOU!

What is it? //
A project aimed to resurrect the notion of sending and receiving parcels. The first step is to sign up by email and answer the short questionnaire below. Once you've done that, I'll read through everyone's answers and will pair up (to the best of my ability) people with similar interests. You will then get an email from me notifying you of your partner and their email address, and this is where YOU will need to get in contact with them and swap address details etc. Think of it like a long lost pen pal!

Once you have your parcel partner, the fun begins. This is where you have free reign - be as creative as you want. You can make things, buy things or even collect things to put in the parcel as long as you have a total of 5 different items in it. Perhaps you could pick a theme (or a colour theme) and choose things according to it - for example, a stripe theme - stripe tea towel, stripe washi tape. stripe candy, stripe notebooks etc etc. You get the idea!

After you have all received our parcels, take a shot of it, upload it on Instagram or Facebook (be sure to tag: @nianeve #postaparcel). Make sure you do upload photos of your parcels because there will be giveaways for the most creative! Plus, it'll be fun to share and see what others have come up with!

How //
If you think you'd like to get involved in this fun project, copy & paste this short questionnaire into an email to and sign up by no later than Sunday 6 October.

1.  Name
2.  Age
3.  Location (Town/Country)
4.  Interests
5.  Email address

Now a few housekeeping issues... I know I know - that's the last thing you want to hear but to make sure everyone enjoys the benefits of this project, please make sure you follow the following guidelines very closely.

  • Once you sign up & have been assigned a parcel partner, you will COMMIT to creating/sending them their parcel. It won't be fun if you get something and your partner doesn't.
  • Remember to fill up your parcel with 5 different items. No less and no more!
  • If for some reason you can't put together your parcel anymore, please email me by no later than Monday 21 October by email.
  • Strictly no FOOD to be included in your parcels.
  • All parcels have to be posted by Friday 25 October 2013 to make sure everyone receives parcels on the same week.

And that's it folks!  If you have any questions, please email me and I will reply with an answer as soon as I can. I will also create a FAQ page in the next week and in the meantime, keep your eyes peeled on the blog for inspiration boards, packaging/wrapping ideas and tips on posting your parcels.

Happy parcel-ing! x
